TAKING BETTER PICTURES
If you are shooting at night and want a Christmas tree picture to look like it is night, turn off your flash and sit the camera on a tripod or other stable hard surface to keep it from shaking during exposure. You should not hand hold a camera with a shutter speed of less than 1/30 of a second. Set your ISO on your camera to at least 800 to 2000 for nighttime interior scenes. Remember to switch it back to 200-400 when outside. Take time to compose your pictures before you shoot them. |

What's the world coming to? The "Consumerist" online blog had the following suggestion on how to make money for the holidays- |
"Become a photographer. Most of them will tell you persistence is at least as important as skill in creating great work. If you know people who are looking to take portraits or holding a social function, offer to shoot it for free and sell them the pictures if they like them." |
Print your iPhone pictures? Why, yes we can. Bring your iPhone in with you. We will copy them onto flash drive or write them to a CD. Then place your order from one of our workstations as usual. You can crop, enlarge, color correct just like you can from a regular digital camera. Of course, you can always send them to us through our online ordering system. |

PHOTO LECTURE
Birmingham Audubon Society presents "Birds of East Africa" by Dick Mills of World Discovery Safaris This program is open to the public. |
|
Although it would take a long time to do justice to East Africa’s birdlife; their special habits, adaptations, anatomy and ecology, this program will attempt to feature some highlights regarding these fascinating creatures. Nearly 1400 species of birds have been recorded from East Africa, making it one of the richest and most diverse bird areas in the world. Add to these the numerous sunbirds, sandpipers, coursers, hornbills, barbets, larks, drongos, bulbuls, cisticolas, eremomelas, prinias, pipits, gonoleks and tchagras and you may quickly realize that East Africa is truly a birder's paradise. |
