NAME CHANGE
The venerable "Bogen Imaging" Company will change their name to "Manfrotto Distribution" effective January 1st, 2010. The ad with Lester Bogen sitting atop his "Bogen" tripod is indelibly imprinted on the brains of 80's photographers. The "Bogen" tripods were actually manufactured by Italy's Manfrotto Corporation which, after Bogen's death, eventually purchased his company. The name change is designed to create a new "Manfrotto" Power Brand by emphasizing their traditional enthusiast and professional photo market products and adding new, emerging market products. Their new products and categories for the new market sector will be launched at Photokina 2010. Stay tuned.
